Enoch's Knob Bridge sits just below the highest point in Franklin County. It was built in 1908 crossing Beouf Creek. Previously, there had been a ford just upstream, where in the late 1890's a man and his child drowned while trying to cross in a wagon during high water. Unknown by the locals, they were buried, according to the local paper, "a few yards downstream from the ford". This places the graves near the location of the bridge. They were identified by the remains of the wagon by a family member several months later. There is no record of the bodies being moved.

Two more deaths are associated with the bridge. 1987, Patrick Kinneson fell or jumped from the West side of the bridge. And in 2005, Stephen Cooksey was shot and burned in a reported drug deal gone bad. Both spirits remain in the active area.

The experiences I've had here, at what may be the one of the most investigated haunted places in the county, are too numerous to begin to write here. Just to name a few, I've seen a video of a whirling red haired spirit spinning in the center of the bridge, (wish I could find that one again! If you know the young man who showed it to me out there one night, please have him contact me.), I've contacted both Patrick, Stephen, and other spirits here with the rods and with the KII meter. One night, I photographed what I believe to be a portal to the other side, where the spirits enter this realm. Another night, I saw a black shadow come down from a starry sky, which totally blocked the view of one side of the bridge from the other. We've had the Ovilus give names of people out there with us that we didn't even know! Also, EVP's including one telling us to go to hell. However, I have never found anything I believe to be evil or mean out there. The spirits seem to be fun-loving, or at worst a couple of them are somewhat unfriendly but overall harmless.

This light appeared over a bluff. I believe it's a portal to the other side.

THE OLD BRIDGE IS SCHEDULED TO BE TORN DOWN IN SEPTEMBER 2012. A NEW BRIDGE, A CONCRETE MONSTER WITH NO PERSONALITY OR ARTISTIC FLAIR, IS BEING PUT UP UPSTREAM. ON SEPTEMBER 2, I WAS ASSURED BY THE SPIRITS THAT THEY WOULD REMAIN IN THE AREA. ACCORDING TO PATRICK, PER THE RODS,IT'S HOME.
