On June 22nd, the Franklin County Bicentennial Committee has arranged for a four hour ghost hunt in the famous Harney Mansion in Sullivan.
The building was built in 1856, and sold to Gen. Harney as a summer home in 1872. After going through a number of owners, it fell into disrepair in the 70’s. Eventually, a group purchased it and have been bringing it back into a useable condition. Today, it can be rented as a place to hold conferences and other things. Parts of it have also been restored to an older style.
Check out Missouri Shadows, available at all libraries. I have a chapter there, which tells of the ghost hunt we’ve done there. Or check out the video below, which is a radio show done in the Harney Mansion when we did a live ghost investigation.
Hope you come out and check out some of the counties haunted and historical sites. The tours will be led by myself and my ghost investigators.
